How to Join

E-mail List:
SVL maintains an email announcement system for announcements of activities, events, classes, and other community affairs.

To subscribe to the list please send an email to: info@svlclub.org and put in the subject line: "SUBSCRIBE SVLCOMMUNITY", also please state that you are over 18 in the note.

 

Membership - Associate / Full / Honorary

Associate membership:

1. You must start off as a pledge to the club.
2. Before you can become a pledge of the club you must attend at least 2 club functions.
3. You must be a member of the queer community (LBGT).
4. Pledges will be assigned a pledge mentor.
   The mentor is to assist the pledge through this process. This includes being available to answer any questions the pledge may have. As well as periodically checking with the pledge to make sure they are aware of what is required and is meeting those requirements.
5. During your pledge time you should make sure you introduce yourself to one or more board members so they recognize your name and face when you hand in an application to become a full member. Board Members usually have on SVL board member pins. You can also ask someone wearing the SVL club patches to point out board members.

Full membership:

1. Fulfill / complete "Associate membership".
2. Must have distinguished yourself in your service to the organization and the community.
3. Have an invitation from a member of the board.
4. Have the sponsorship of two full members.

NOTE: The board votes on all Full memberships, majority rules.

Full members receive club colors and extended benefits.
However, full members are required to maintain active participation in the organization to maintain full member status.

Honorary membership:

In some rare instances SVL has honored people (of any orientation) by giving them "Honorary memberships" (No voting rights) to the SVL club.
These memberships are a way to honor those people who have gone above and beyond for the SVL Club, and the leather community as a whole.

 

NOTE: Anyone joining after Oct. 15, 2008 will have membership through 2009.
